Our Story
Founded by Elias P. Blackwood in the year 1875, on the outskirts of Salem, MA, Blackwood’s Circus of the Damned is currently the second longest-running circus in the United States.
​
Known for its incredible equine attractions (be it horse and rider duos or sideshow oddities,) the Circus of the Damned mystifies all those who step through its dark iron gates.
​
As a fourth-generation owner and Master of Ceremonies, I strive for perfection while maintaining an atmosphere that is not for the faint of heart. Only the most curious of creatures inhabit my stables, and I have traveled the globe saving them from a potentially vile fate… merely because they are different.
​
Who among us is not “odd,” as they say?
​
So I invite you to step inside, stay awhile, and most importantly…
